Our Mission
Feminist Border Arts (FBA) is dedicated to curating, creating, and sharing underrepresented perspectives across a wide array of media arts, including film, design, digital storytelling, illustration, and zine culture. Our work bridges scholarship and creative practice, offering a platform where art meets critical inquiry. We aim to foster social awareness and engagement by centering narratives from women, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and creators committed to social change.
At FBA, we believe in the power of analog and digital media as tools for expression, transformation, and community building. Our initiatives—including the Feminist Border Arts Film Festival and our Zine Fest—champion diverse voices and stories that challenge dominant narratives and expand possibilities for representation. Through these events and our work in design and media arts, we invite audiences to imagine alternative worlds and participate in creating new methods of knowledge production.
FBA is committed to the intersection of the humanities and the arts. We bring together students, community members, scholars, and creators through media that stirs hearts, opens minds, and empowers individuals toward social change. By presenting stories from the US, the Borderlands, transnational, and global communities, we create a distinctive space for critical and creative engagement that inspires, educates, and drives transformative change.
